Invincible Season 4 Confirmed By Amazon, Set For 2027 Release...

Amazon Studios has officially greenlit Invincible Season 4, with a targeted release date of early 2027. The announcement, made Wednesday during Amazon’s upfront presentation in New York, confirms the hit animated series will continue adapting Robert Kirkman’s acclaimed comic book saga.

The news comes as fans eagerly await Season 3, expected to premiere late this year. Social media erupted with excitement after voice actor Steven Yeun (Mark Grayson/Invincible) tweeted, "The fight’s far from over," alongside the official poster.

Invincible has become one of Prime Video’s most-watched adult animated series since its 2021 debut. Its blend of superhero action, emotional depth, and brutal twists has drawn comparisons to The Boys, another Amazon hit. The show’s renewal was widely expected but hadn’t been confirmed until now.

Kirkman, who co-created the comic and serves as executive producer, teased major storylines ahead. "We’re just scratching the surface of the Viltrumite War," he told Variety, referencing the comics’ pivotal arc. The voice cast, including J.K. Simmons and Sandra Oh, is expected to return.

The confirmation follows months of speculation fueled by the show’s strong Season 2 performance. Nielsen reported Invincible ranked among Prime Video’s top 5 original series for 11 straight weeks after its return. Merchandise sales and comic reprints also surged during that period.

Production on Season 4 will begin later this year after Season 3 wraps post-production. Amazon has not confirmed episode counts, but previous seasons ran for eight episodes each. The studio is also developing a live-action film adaptation separate from the animated continuity.

Fans celebrated the news on Reddit and X, with one viral post noting, "2027 feels far away, but at least we know it’s happening." The hashtag #InvincibleSeason4 trended nationally Wednesday afternoon, amassing over 85,000 tweets.

Analysts suggest the renewal reinforces Amazon’s strategy of investing in genre content. Prime Video has doubled down on superhero projects, including The Boys spinoff Gen V and the upcoming Spider-Man Noir series starring Nicolas Cage.
