Violent Soho Tickets Sell Out Amid US Tour Announcement...
Australian rock band Violent Soho sparked a frenzy among US fans after announcing their first North American tour in years. Tickets for their limited-run shows sold out within hours on Thursday, leaving many fans scrambling for resale options.
The Brisbane-based group, known for hits like "Covered in Chrome" and "Like Soda," last toured the US in 2017. Their return comes after growing demand from American audiences who discovered the band during pandemic-era streaming surges.
Tour dates include stops in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Austin between June 10-25. The 12-city tour marks their most extensive US run since their breakout album "Hungry Ghost" gained international attention.
Fans took to social media to express frustration over the quick sellouts. "Had three devices ready and still struck out," tweeted @IndieRockFan91 from Seattle. Secondary market prices have already doubled for some venues.
Tour promoter Live Nation confirmed additional shows won't be added. The band is focusing on finishing their fifth studio album before the tour begins. Violent Soho's management told Pitchfork they were "blown away" by the US response.
The ticket rush reflects growing US interest in international indie rock acts. Spotify data shows Violent Soho's monthly US listeners grew 40% since 2023. Their raw, energetic sound has drawn comparisons to early Nirvana and Pixies.
For fans who missed out, the band hinted at possible festival appearances later this year. Their last US performance was a surprise 2019 set at Austin's Levitation Festival.
